Who this affects

Every NDIS provider.

These dates come from the government timeline published in September 2026. It says it will be updated as further dates are confirmed after consultation, so check the source before you make a big decision on a date.

Mandatory registration for support coordination was identified as an option but the NDIS Commission says that reform is paused; instead, a newly commissioned support coordination function is due from 1 July 2028.

What to do

  1. Keep claims records for 7 years — set this in your systems now.
  2. If most of your revenue is community participation or capacity-building daily activities, plan for smaller budgets as clients' plans are reassessed.
  3. If you deliver personal care or daily living supports and are not registered, start preparing for registration from July 2027.
